Bank of Ghana outdoors GH¢2 on Thursday

Asempa Today has learnt that, the much awaited GH¢2 denomination will be outdoored on Thursday by the Central Bank of Ghana (BoG).

The introduction of the GH¢2 note will fill the gap between the GH¢1 and the GH¢5 as well as help ease the pressure on GH¢1.
A close source at the BoG revealed this to Asempa Today on Wednesday.

The Head of Monetary Policy Committee of BoG, Dr. Benjamin Amoah, announced the banks plan to introduce the GH¢2 about two months ago in an interview with Asempa News.
Meanwhile, Asempa News’ sources could not describe the features on the new GH¢2 due to a publication that the picture of the Big Six on the currency would be taken off.
